Going to Italy was always a dream of mine. It was the type of dream I thought would never come true. It seemed impossible and just a tad bit out of the way.
Then, it happened and honestly, my life changed.
Now I'm not just being over dramatic here, but if this "impossible" I made up in my head, could actually happen, then all of a sudden there was THE ENTIRE WORLD!
Venice was special. It captured my heart and still has me longing for it now, two years later. Then I asked myself "Why? What exactly was it about Venice that made it stand out of all the places I've seen in Italy or anywhere else, as a matter of fact?"
Well, honestly, I can't say I've seen that much of Italy (I plan on changing that in the future) but instead of attempting to express my amazement of this Italian city, I decided to show you.
After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Italy is definitely the country I plan on re-visiting and when I do, Venice will be the first destination on my list. I think I'd like to plan my trip in the spring time, since summer brings tourists and winter brings floods.
It's safe to say that one day in Venice was not enough to satisfy my wanderlust, and I'd love to spend a couple nights in Venice to really get to know this Italian city.
There's still so much I long to do! See Venice from the belltower of San Giorgio Maggiore, experience a Venetian carnival, go inside the bridge of sighs, visit the colorful Burano Island, poke around the museum of Da Vinci, explore the Libreria Acqua Alta, see Venice at night, eat at all the local spots and juuust get lost between the old, narrow, brick allies!
Your turn! Have you ever been to Venice? If so what was your favorite? If not, what would you like to see?
Let me know in the comments below! Ciao!
